Cooling System Services
The primary job of the cooling system in your car is to keep the engine operating within proper temperature ranges, such as prevention of overheating. The cooling system also allows the engine to heat up as quickly as possible and subsequently maintain a constant temperature. Most cars on the road today are liquid cooled. In a liquid cooled vehicle, the cooling system circulates fluid through the engine. As the fluid passes through the engine it absorbs heat, in turn cooling the engine. After the fluid leaves the engine, it passes through the radiator to cool.
Here is a list of cooling system parts commonly found in today’s cars: radiator, radiator cap, water-pump, freeze plugs, thermostat, hoses, electric or belt driven fan, overflow tank and reservoir. There are many different cooling system designs depending on the year, make and model of your vehicle. Because of these differences, each vehicle’s cooling system must be assessed on a model by model basis. At DK Motors, our technicians are highly trained and have vehicle-specific tools and equipment which enables us to provide accurate diagnostics and carry out dependable repairs.
